EVs have outperformed their ICE rivals with the published shortlisted for the 2025 UK Car of the Year awards.
With the winners of each category chosen by a panel of 31 leading motoring journalists, the small crossover category was won by the new Kia EV3 with the Mini Countryman winning the medium crossover class.
Hyundai proved to be a double winner with its strikingly-styled Santa Fe (available in PHEV form) taking the large crossover category while the all-electric Ioniq 5N took the crown doer the Performance Car category. The Polestar 4 took the Executive Car award. It was the first time that both Polestar and Mini have won any UK Car of the Year award.
The overall winner will be announced on 6 March 2025.
